AppJourney Tasks

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-06

AppJourney Tasks ("the app") is published by AppJourney as a companion to the AppJourney mobile marketing course.

What stays on your device

Your tasks, task lists, notes, voice recordings, transcripts, and photos are stored only on your phone. They are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party. Deleting the app deletes them.

Voice notes are transcribed by your phone's speech recognition service (Apple Speech on iOS, Google speech services on Android). Depending on the device and language, that service may process audio on the device or on the platform provider's servers under their privacy terms. AppJourney itself never receives the audio or the transcript.

What we store in the cloud

When you sign in with Google we store, in Google Firebase (Firestore):

We use this to sign you in, to send you messages you have opted into (push, SMS, WhatsApp, email), and to teach course participants how mobile marketing tools work on real data.

Google Calendar

If you grant access, the app reads events from your Google calendars to show them next to your tasks, and writes events only to a calendar it creates named "AppJourney". Calendar data is fetched directly from Google to your device and is not stored on our servers. The app's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Analytics and advertising

The app includes measurement and advertising SDKs so the AppJourney course can teach mobile marketing on real data:

SDK What it does What it collects
Firebase Analytics (Google) Product analytics, and conversion import into Google Ads Events you trigger in the app (screens viewed, tasks and notes created, sign-in), a Firebase installation id, device model, OS version, country, app version
Adjust Install attribution and deep links Advertising ID, IP address, device and OS details, install and session timestamps, the ad click that led to the install
Meta App Events Ad measurement for Meta campaigns Advertising ID, app events, device and OS details
TikTok Events Ad measurement for TikTok campaigns Advertising ID, app events, device and OS details
Firebase Cloud Messaging Push notifications A device push token
Firebase In-App Messaging In-app messages Message impressions and taps
Firebase Remote Config Turning features and each SDK on or off remotely Nothing about you

None of these receives your task, note, voice or photo content. Adjust, Meta and TikTok use your device's advertising identifier (the Google Advertising ID on Android, the IDFA on iOS). On Android the app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission for that reason and no other; it is what lets those SDKs read the advertising ID at all, and it is the identifier your device settings let you reset or switch off.

Push notifications and in-app messages

If you allow notifications, we send push messages about the app and the course to the device token above. Tapping one may open a specific screen in the app, and we record that a message of that campaign was received or opened — never its content, and never anything you typed. We also show in-app messages while the app is open, triggered by things you do in the app (finishing onboarding, creating a task); Firebase records only that a message was shown, tapped or dismissed.

Your choices. On Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads to delete or opt out of your advertising ID; the app keeps working and the ad SDKs stop receiving it. On iOS the app asks for tracking permission the first time it needs it, and you can change the answer in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Turning off notifications in your system settings stops push. To stop everything, delete your account (Profile → Delete account) or uninstall the app.

Deleting your data

Profile → Delete account removes your cloud profile, your sign-in, and everything stored by the app on your phone, and optionally the AppJourney calendar in Google. Signing out is enough to remove the push token, the device platform and fcm_token_updated_at on their own: we stop being able to send to that device the moment you do.

If you cannot open the app any more, you can ask us to delete your account by email instead. How to delete your account sets out both routes, what is removed, and what is kept afterwards.
